Can I trade in a vehicle with severe engine problems?

I have a vehicle that is paid in full but recently has been having problems. Specifically the engine is knocking bad and the mechanic said it is on it's way out. It is to the point that the harmonic balancer isn't able to handle all the vibrations from the engine, and it caused the crankshaft to crack and other pulleys to come loose, and serpentine belt to shred. Will a dealer, big or small accept this as a trade in with all the obvious problems that it has?

  1. You would be better off going to a large new car dealer. they would merely look at the blue book value of the car and check for body damage and mileage on the odometer.
  2. yes they will accept if they need you to buy but they will offer a very low figure, so it is up to you,,,,,,,good luck
  3. would you buy it? like it is sure you know anytime you trade a car you lose money since dealer as to turn a round and re sale it to make money so they dont give you what its worth and being junk or having a problem they dont want it no more than you want it now best to just repair it or put a for sale sign in window and not trade where yuo wil lose money ever time
  4. A dealership probably will take the car in on trade, but don't expect to get top value for your klunker. Once they have the title for the car, they'll probably send it straight to the junk yard.
  5. No not at all your best bet is to Just get a new engine if you really like the car.
  6. Try wish123 excellent website. I post a question on the website for my car. A machenic expert was linked to my question and solved my problems.
