Can anyone tell me any possible faults and solutions with a pressure steamer and procedures for turning it off?
Can anyone give me two examples of possible faults that may break a pressure steamer and how they can be repaired, and anything that needs to be done before turning it off?

- Interesting question, but more details required.
- Possible faults are seals deteriorating to the point where pressure cannot be created or maintained. Safety pressure relief may become jammed open or closed and should have some sort of regular testing procedure to make sure this does not occur. Normal pressure control systems can also cause problems and should be subject to monitoring and testing, also if a gauge is fitted that needs similar testing and checking. Keeping valves and gauges clean is important. If there is a problem that causes over-pressure of the unit then some sort of remote control of the power to the steamer may be needed to allow it to be turned off without going near it and risking injury, eg gas tap away from the unit or isolator switch at some distance from an electrically heated unit. No one should approach until the pressure has dropped to a safe level.
