Engine Problems? I was driving today and I noticed my 2002 Benz E320 was ideling a lil more than usual.I made a stop and when turning on my car again the check engine light came on and since then the ideling got worse.Ive had my oil changed last month but the check oil level malfunction appeared but I was driving so it wouldnt measure.Checked the malfunction when stopped and it says that my oil level is OK but my engine seems to shake some.My service B has exceeded by 3400 miles it says.Could it be a reset problem or is something major prolly wrong w/my car? Any suggestions on whats wrong w/it?It drives good still but its ideling harder than wanted.What can U do to fix car to stop ideling like it is brand new?I'm gonna get it looked at tomorrow I just wanted to get some opinions before heading to any shop or dealership on what are the potential problems if anybody has had anything similar happen to thier car.Thanx.

Engine problems? I’m going through an ordeal with my car! 2 months ago, the engine was hesitating when accelerating up hills and the freeway. I took it in, they ran test, and basically replaced all my spark plugs and wires. 2 weeks later, still not running well, although hesitation is gone. They find out I’m low on transmission fluid. 2 weeks later, I’m low again. Turns out a faulty part is pumping transmission fluid into the engine. They fix the problem. All this time the idle has progressively gotten worse and now after driving awhile, my idle is TERRIBLE. Not like it’s about to stall but just shaking the car a lot. I’m tired of taking it in. Since the mechanics couldn’t figure it out after taking it in 4 times in 2 months, anyone have an idea what is going on with the idle? Car is a 97 Oldsmobile LSS. When they changed out the spark plugs, they cleaned out the fuel injector as well

engine problems????????? i have a ford laser kj lxi 95 model i have put a new 2 inch sports exhaust and a pod filter on the stock intake pipe and replaced spark plugs and new spark plug cables and my engine idles fine cold but once it start to worm up its starts to cut out but then runs fine anfeter a bit and wen ur goin along and go to put ur foot down it cut outs and as like no power but then after like 3-7 seconds its starts to go and sometimes stales wen u put the clutch in wen ur goin along wat causees these problems plz help cause it really a big pain i thort it was the spark plugs and cables tht y i changed them but didnt do anything i think it could be the timeing belt and how much to get this checked like the timeing belt reset i had it survaced and machanic to check it but didnt no anything bout it plz help heaps plz

Where can I go to have my car inspected for engine problems? I drive a 2005 Ford Focus ZX3 SE and the warranty expires in June. I want to make sure there's nothing that needs repairing (it's had problems in the past with excess vibration and noise) in the engine and whatnot. What are my options for an independent inspection? And what does it cost? I'd like a bumper to bumper inspection.

Can I trade in a vehicle with severe engine problems? I have a vehicle that is paid in full but recently has been having problems. It is to the point that the harmonic balancer isn't able to handle all the vibrations from the engine, and it caused the crankshaft to crack and other pulleys to come loose, and serpentine belt to shred. Corvette Engine Problems, Engine would start shaking voilently? I was at a traffic light, when it turned green and i accelerated, engine started shaking, along with the car and the car wouldnot accelerate..just move slowly...it was working perfectly fine just minutes ago, until i stopped at the lights. Can an overfull gas tank cause engine problems? For some reason the gas nozzle failed to "click off" when filling my gas tank tonight resulting in gas spilled all over the side of the car and the ground. Not thinking too much of it (bad move it seems), I put the cap on and started to drive off. After driving about 50 feet, the check engine light came on and the car stalled. The car would then not start until I let it sit for a bit. Then it started weakly while giving it a little gas and I was able to drive another 10 feet before it stalled. I syphoned some gas out of the tank (by mouth) but with no better result. The car has never had such problems before, its a 1999 Audi A4. Could this be the result of too much gas in the tank or is this some strange coincidence? Thanks!

if a timing belt is not properly installed, could it be the cause of engine problems 2 months later? the garage tells me the timing belt was ok; but to have engine problems just a few months later is bizarre are they lying to me to protect themselves? or if the timing belt was the problem, it would have happened earlier?

Can I trade in a car with engine problems? My car engine might have a misfiring problem, which can be felt and the engine light is on and flashes when I drive, and I did not pass the state inspection due to clouded headlights. Starting problems, engine turnsover but stalls and dies. . . What can i do? I have a 1991 Chevy S-10 pickup, V6 engine, 4.3 liter fuel injection system that was sitting in the driveway for a couple of years. I am guessing its the old fuel or malfunctioning sensors. But if there is another possible problem/solution, small or big, to get it started I would like to know. I don't have much money to pay a mechanic, so I would like to fix it myself if possible.

It gets a tapping that comes from the valve area. It sounds to me like it could be mis-adjusted valves. It also has 190,000 miles so maybe something is worn?

Has anyone had any major engine problems with 2005-2006 BMW X5 3.0i? I have heard to stay away from the 3.0i because its not a good engine. I haven't heard any specific problems with it, just to stay away and get the 4.4i. I can tell they get about the same gas mileage but was wondering what the big deal is.

Engine problems with a Hyundai Ecel (1999). Anyone know what might cause the engine to be 'surging'? Feels like I'm pumping the accelerator, when I'm definitely not. Also feels like the engine is not function to maximum capacity. i.e. straining up a hill when it would usually cruise up the same slope. Does this sound like a fuel system problem or something more sinister?? Although a second-hand car, it did come with a warantee. I'm just concerned that the seller will try to avoid fixing the problem properly & I would find it easier to negotiate with them if I had at least a vague idea of what the problem might be.

Anyone with a Mazda3, have you had any engine mount problems where your car idles bad and rattling? i have an 04 mazda 3 and the dealership says i have a broken engine mount and that that is a common mazda 3 problem. Could I have engine problems but still have oil and no check engine light? Hello, from previous posts Ive been saying that Im not sure if I have a exhaust/header leak or a spun rod bearing/engine trouble. On acceleration there is some chatter/ticking.... Does my gear indicator mean engine problems for my car? Hi, I have a 2006 Mustang. It's a regular one, not a GT. It has a V6 engine and is automatic. Well anyways today the indicator, you know the orange dot which says what gear you are in, is stuck on parking. The gears switch fine, I just have to shift accordingly without the indicator. Problems with engine stalling and overheating? I have a 1994 Honda Civic DX. It's always ran fine but now I have two problems that may or may not be related. First off it can't seem to maintain its level of coolant anymore. I have to put coolant in it like everyday, yet there is no sign of a leak anywhere. Secondly after I've been driving for about 20 minutes the engine gets really sluggish and occasionally stalls. Also it will sometimes start spewing bluish smoke out the tailpipe. Any ideas what the problem could be?

has anyone had any major engine problems with their new honda self propelled 5.5 hp lawn mower? i got one about 2 mo. ago after 1 mo. it started running poorly. i took it in and they say it has a faulty intake valve. seems unlikely, but i know it isn't the fuel, spark plug, or dirty air filter. i'll let you know asap if that is it. ok....i was told it was an intake valve by a "certified" tech. let me be very precise. from day one i noticed after the engine ran a while it seemed to sputter a bit and a little (very little) black smoke came from exhaust. i thought little of it. figured it was just breaking in or something. after each week the condition became progressively worse. finally after 4-5 weeks of use it became so bad it would barely run. i dumped the fuel outta the tank and put hi test in, replaced the plug, and cleaned the air filter.that really made no difference in the way it ran. i took it to service ctr. thinking they may have an insight as to the prob. it sat there 4 wks. til today 8.22. i finally got tired of waiting and picked it up. taking it to a more reputable shop (hopefully) tomorrow. i've always been told that 90% of fuel problems are electrical...which i have many times found to be the case. i have a hard time believing it is an intake valve in a mower this new. can u add n e thing? also as a footnote (now that i am home and have the manual in front of me) it is a model hrr216tka harmony II gcv160 mower. thanks

Will Putting Octane booster in a regular gasoline chevy 350 engine cause any problems? Im going to be putting in NOS Raceing Formula Octane Booster in my chevy 350. I dont have high proformance NOS Systems on my engine. Just good old american muscle. will this cause any problems. It says it will raise the octane 6 points! Its dieseland we think the turbo has gone in it. Turbos are pretty expensive to repair. Mazda 6 engine problems? Hi everybody. I have been planning on buying a new 2007 Mazda6i GT and i love the way the car looks and drives. I've come across mixed reviews on the its reliability. The one review that bothered me the most is the engine running out of oil due to a defective oil filter. So is this problem still prevailing in the current 2007 models? Is anyone aware of other potential problems for this particular car? Any help would be really appreciated.

automobile problems everything is new engine and trans.? new engine broke close to 3k miles. now on second and engine problems and now my transmission is messing up which is new. what now? i just spent 3k on transmission 6 months ago. no problems with it at all. the engine cost almost 5k and am on second one in less than 2 months. i am flat broke and having to keep evacuating for hurricanes and no transportation with pets is so hard and stressful. need new car but just dumped 5k on engine and still have no truck to drive. Has anyone ever heard of engine problems with the 3.0 v6 in a 2003 Saturn Vue? A friend of mine has one and somehow installed the oil filter wrong and has developed an upper engine tick, almost knock. What problems lengthen the time for engine to turn over when starting? '99 Ford Contour has always started smoothly. Last week I had a pair of oxygen sensors replaced (downstream bank 1 sensor 1 reading "system too lean") because the check engine light was on, but there was no problem with the engine starting or running. They also cleaned the fuel injectors and intake. But following that service, my car now cranks a lot longer before turning over, especially upon cold start. On warm start takes slightly longer to turn over than it used too, and there is some knocking. How could this relate to the oxygen sensor repairs? What can I expect the repair shop to do to diagnose this problem? Thanks!

1994 Jeep grand cherokee with engine power loss problems when driving? my jeep grand cherokee with engine 4.0l mfi will start from a little below 12v and drop down rapidly to below 9v depending on the outside temp.when really cold the drop is slower than when hot and then it starts to stall and the check light comes on and stay lit untill i turn the car off.A battery test proved ok and the alternator seem fine.when parked for a while, it will start fine between 9 and 12v again depending on the temperature outside.is the battery cables,alternator? just a little background, the engine was replaced with a similar 4.0l mfi and since then it has been this way with the power always dropping even with a new battery.can somebody please, let me know what might be the problem and how i can repair it. Do I Have Car Engine Problems? Ok I have a automatic Honda Civic like 1988 or something. Every time i'm going up a little or big slope, it barely moves so i have to press down all the way on the gas pedal and hold it down so i can go at least 50. But every time i do the engine light turns on and stays on till i turn car off and turn it back on. I took it to the mechanic but he had no idea what the problem was. Can you figure it out?

Will spilt motor oil on my car engine damage the engine or cause any problems? I was putting some motor oil in my car yesterday and I spilt a few drops onto the top of the engine itself. I wiped it up but some residue must have remained because when I got home and checked under the bonnet, there was smoke coming from where I had spilt the oil. Is this going to cause a problem or will the oil just burn itself out without any damage? I know I should have been more careful when I poured the oil, I feel like an idiot and have already invested in a funnel for the future! All help will be appreciated, thanks in advance.
